Welcome!

The Willow is a psychiatry practice that offers a space intended to nurture the wellbeing of adults, families and young people.

The practice is led by a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who approaches psychiatry from a holistic lens which honors the many ways people choose to find harmony, truth and self-actualization.

“Wherever you are,

And whatever

 you do,

be in love.”

-Rumi

Our Philosophy

As the willow tree, humans are resilient, designed to flex with time, grow and stand tall in strength. Like the bark of the willow, our very fabric holds the medicine to our healing.

The Willow wellness space encourages wisdom from within, self-nurturing, balance, learning and growth.

Monifa Willis, PMHNP-BC

Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Being of service to others has been my calling. I have provided therapy support, psychotropic management and crisis intervention to families and young adults in community and hospital based settings. In addition to provided applied behavioral analysis and school support to children on the Autism spectrum.

I began my training in psychology at CSU, Long Beach, carried on to obtain a Master's in Marriage & Family therapy and completed my training through UCSF Master's program for Nurse Practitioners, specializing in Psychiatry.

I believe in making space for people to explore what wellness, health and peace can look like for them. I ground myself in the belief that medicine comes in many forms, and I see it as my duty to provide education and consultantship as you explore what best works for you.

I practice from a community based, trauma-informed heart that intellectually appreciates the impact of biological, environmental, behavioral and generational factors on our daily lives and communities at large.

My treatment approach is grounded in evidence based psychiatric medication practices while holding respect for the many ways people choose to heal. I continually verse myself on alternative wellness forms that could be of service to you and/or your child.

I enjoy collaborating with other healing practitioners, but most importantly, I enjoy working with you.
